Budget Hearings On Tap In The Cities Of Ft. Lauderdale & Miami

The City of Ft. Lauderdale expected to pass the budget for Fiscal Year 25/26 at tonight's second and final hearing. Commissioner Steve Glassman says the one-point-two-billion-dollar plan shows an eight-point-five-percent increase in taxable property value. The city is using a line of credit on top of the 100-million-dollar bond for ongoing construction of the police department, but the company will pay for the design flaws leading to cracks in the foundation. The city of Miami has its first budget hearing tomorrow morning.
