LYNYRD SKYNYRD & FOREIGNER: Double Tribute Tour

Foreigner and Lynyrd Skynyrd are teaming up for a tour next summer. The Double Trouble Double Vision tour starts on July 23rd in Atlanta with 19 shows through August 29th in Rogers, Arkansas. Some will say it should be titled the "Double Tribute Tour" as there is not one original member left between both bands. Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson, the longest serving member at 21 years, says, "The energy the band has felt knowing we'll be touring with Skynyrd this coming summer has been electric! Two bands with plenty of iconic songs, dueling guitars, double trouble and double vision are gonna set each and every stage on fire! No question this will be THE go-to event of the summer!”

And Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant adds, "I'm excited to share the stage with Foreigner and hear all their amazing hits! I've always been a fan, and I believe the audience will love this tour. DEEP PURPLE: Is the End in Sight?

While Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan has said that their Long Goodbye tour, announced in 2017, "was a joke," this is not. The 80-year old singer tells Uncut magazine he has "30 per cent vision" left and finds it "achingly tiresome" trying to work. "It makes life mysterious. The hardest thing is working on my laptop. "I can’t see anything on the screen unless I use my peripheral vision – I pick up a line by looking at it sideways. But you find a way. You adapt. "But ... it takes a long time to do the work."

And whole naming their tour the Long Goodbye, that goodbye is now actually much shorter.

"I think if I lose my energy I’m going to stop. I don’t want to be an embarrassment to anyone.

"We’re not far off that. It creeps up on you – you don’t really notice. "But then this isn’t like a normal job. It’s all in your mind. "The writing certainly is, and the ability. "And these guys who I work with just seem to keep improving. The hard thing is to keep them down." Deep Purple started a three-day tour of Eastern Asia Sunday and their next show is Thursday in Dubai followed by Malaysia on Sunday and then they're off the road until April in Japan.

KISS: New Album in the Works?

On Friday at the KISS Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas event, Paul Stanley mentioned that he's working on new music. Well, it turns out that it's new music for KISS. On Sunday, during the band's Q&A session, he said, "We like to tell you what we're doing, the things that are planned. The problem is that so much of what we may bring up never comes to fruition, [but] music, yeah, that looks more than possible. Probable. I'm not going to give you any hints, but I only write when there's a project -- and I've been writing." It will likely be more mature

lyrically than what they're known for. Case in point, during their performance on Saturday, they did "Take Me" off their 1976 album, Rock and Roll Over for the first time since 2022, with Stanley saying, "It's really funny because some of those songs are not really age-appropriate anymore. I couldn't imagine writing a song today [saying], 'Put your hand into my pocket / grab onto my rocket.' A nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there."

Gene Simmons was asked if there was anything he could change, and he said, "If I have any regrets, it's that I sometimes -- and I think we all go through this -- wish we were smarter and better at trying to help Ace [Frehley] and Peter [Criss] have better lives. All of us are guilty of it, and so am I: 'I don't want to start an argument. Let's just continue doing the tour,' because you want to get through it for selfish reasons because it's working and the chicks and the money and [so on], and you don't want to ruin anything. [In the] meantime, somebody who might be your brother is ruining their life by bad decisions. I think this goes to your friends, your lovers, your family members -- I wish I would have practiced more tough love and been more in the face of people that we cared about… Tough love is a good idea in my opinion with your children, with the people you love, with the people you care about, with the people you work with. It's not going to be a popular thing -- you're going to argue about it -- but in the long run, you're going to be helping that person hopefully change their life."

Up next for KISS is receiving the Kennedy Center Honors on December 6th. The ceremony will air on CBS on December 23rd.

THE BEATLES: Movie News

The Beatles have released a trailer for the updated version of their Anthology series, which will start streaming on Disney+ on November 26th with parts one, two and three, followed by parts four through six on the 27th (Thanksgiving), and seven through nine on the 28th. You can watch the trailer on YouTube. Originally released in 1995, it's been restored and expanded from eight parts to nine. Part part nine features Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr coming together in 1995 to work on John Lennon's demo of "Free as a Bird," which was featured in the series and on the first installment of the three-part Anthology album. The updated Anthology album, now titled Anthology Collection, will be released this Friday. It contains a fourth volume with 13 previously unreleased demos, session recordings, and other rare recordings.

In other Beatles news, director Sam Mendes, who is making films on each of the four members, has been denied a permit by Westminster Council to film on the famous Abbey Road crossing in London, which is where they shot the cover of their 1969 album, Abbey Road.

A source tells The Sun, "It's believed they turned down the request on the basis that they'd have to shut down the road for filming to take place safely. "The trouble is that the huge number of tourists who visit the area often cause disruption by having their picture taken recreating the scene. That would be magnified by having dozens of cast and crew present to do the same thing for the movie. Now the producers are facing the prospect of omitting the scene as they really don't want to rely on CGI because that would not look authentic."

Location scouts are now looking for a similar looking crosswalk. The four films, which are being made with the cooperation of The Beatles, are expected to open in theaters in April 2028.

BILLY IDOL: New Song

Billy Idol has released a new song. “Dying to Live,” featuring composer J. Ralph, is featured at the end of his documentary, Billy Idol Should Be Dead, which will be out early next year.

He also released a video featuring photos and footage from throughout his life, including home movies, performance clips and more, augmented with animation. Idol says, “It’s quite something watching a documentary about your own life. Seeing the landscape of my story all laid out inspired me to want to write a song for the end of the film that brings together what I saw in the film; all the strands of my life really. “It was thrilling to work together with J. Ralph. Symphonic music has a unique cinematic authenticity, we felt this was essential to capturing the range of emotions the climactic moment of the film called for.”

Idol is down to the last three dates of his 2025 tour – today (Tuesday) in Santiago, Chile; Saturday in Lima, Peru; and November 30th in Mexico.

DISTURBED: The Sound of Wedding Bells

Disturbed singer David Draiman said "I do" for the second time when he tied the knot with his fiancée Sarah Uli on Sunday in Florida, where they live. He teased the pending nuptials earlier in the day, posting a shot from a group dinner with Sarah, along with the caption, "Marrying this goddess today." He then followed it up with photos from the ceremony, saying, "Thanks so much to everyone who was a part of this amazing day!" Sarah also posted photos, writing, "Married my best fiend! And it was the best day ever!!! I guess this is why people have weddings!" Draiman proposed to Sarah on stage during Disturbed's show on May 9th in

Sacramento, California, saying, "Sarah, my love, you have made my life so much better. You are the light in the darkness for me. I love you more than anything I have ever loved in this world, and it would be the absolute pinnacle of my life and my existence…" He then pulled a ring from his pocket, got down on one knee and said, "Sarah Uli, will you marry me?"

Draiman was previously married to model and actress Lena Yada from 2011 to 2023. Their son was born in 2013.

Dave Mustaine Reveals His Idea For Megadeth's FInal Concert

How do you insure that people - fans and non-fans alike - remember you for years after you end your career? Dave Mustaine of Megadeth has just the idea. He wants the band's final concert to take place in outer space. "I think that will be a really fitting climax. And I’m not talking about on the side of a vomit comet. A gig on the Moon, a full moon landing, that would be cool. I saw they sent up a bunch of celebrities into space and I thought, 'Well, if them, why not me?'" If Katy Perry can be launched into space, a Megadeth concert on the surface of the moon would certainly be the way to wrap up a career. "I’m just watching how that all progresses. I know Elon Musk and Richard Branson were working on interstellar travel. I think people are going to be traveling to space a lot sooner than you think," he said, adding "I hope we’ll be playing up in space."
