He did it all for... well, all.
Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst opened up about his plans to create an alternative to Coachella, where all musicians are welcome to play.
In response to a post from rapper Lil Wayne on X about not being asked to play the music festival, the "Nookie" singer shared his own thoughts on Saturday (April 18).
"Let's start our own experience gathering and our own acknowledgment event to welcome all of the uninvited," Durst wrote. "I've got a couple ideas I've been working on for quite some while now. Sending good vibes."
The nu-metal band has never played Coachella, though they did play Woodstock '99, the same year Coachella launched.
Last year, the Grammy-nominated band's longtime bassist, Sam Rivers, passed away at the age of 48. In a heartfelt tribute, Durst expressed his condolences.
"He was pure magic," he wrote at the time. "The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound. A true legend of legends. And his spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory.
Though never asked to play at Coachella, Limp Bizkit will be headlining a different festival this year: Louder Than Life. The rock/heavy metal festival will take place in Louisville, Ky., along with co-headliners Tool, My Chemical Romance and Iron Maiden.
