Nineteen puppies and two adult dogs were just brought to Florida by a surgeon based in Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Brian Rambarran, is also a pilot and works with the nonprofit "Pilots N Paws." He flew to Asheville-North Carolina, which is still recovering from Hurricane Helene.

"People are still in the rebuilding phase right now, so I'm not putting blame on anybody. But a lot of the dogs ended up abandoned or they're just not being cared for because people have other things that are more pressing that they need to take care of."

Rambarran says he picked up two sets of puppies during this latest rescue.

"There was one mother and her nine five-day-old puppies that went to Palm Beach. There was one mother and ten of her puppies that went to Winter Haven, Florida and then I brought four puppies back to Buffalo, New York."

One of the moms was found malnourished and had been struck by a car. But she found her way to a home where she delivered nine puppies. Those ten animals were taken to Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Loxahatchee Groves. The other mother dog and her ten puppies were taken to Crossed Paws Pet Rescue in Winter Haven.

Dr. Rambarran says it will likely be several more weeks before they're put up for adoption.

For anyone who would like to donate to his efforts, Brian started the nonprofit RambarranRescues.org about a year ago.
