(Edinburgh) -- Queen Elizabeth is now lying at rest in Scotland. King Charles The Third led a procession from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St. Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh. The new Monarch was joined by his siblings while the Queen Consort followed behind in a car.

Thousands of people lined the procession's route known as "The Royal Mile" with more being turned away. The procession followed a 21-gun salute and the Ceremony of the Keys that welcomed King Charles to Edinburgh.

The public will be able to pay their respects to the late Queen for 24 hours before her coffin is flown to London.
