With the Miami Beach curfew and restrictions on Spring Breakers, many revelers are heading north to Fort Lauderdale.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, there have been only 10 spring break-related arrests compared with Miami Beaches' 250.

In fact, Chamber of Commerce President Dan Lindblade says the Fort Lauderdale police department is actually using Spring Break as a recruitment tool, inviting students to compete in athletic challenges and then offering them jobs.

The curfews came in response to last year’s mayhem that resulted in nearly 500 arrests, the seizure of 105 guns and two fatal shootings.

Rather than mandating curfews, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department has partnered with local bars and restaurants to promote safety and prevent sexual assault with FLPD Bar Watch.

Bar Watch is a network of people including bar staff and police officers who know how to identify and act on problem situations.
