Study Decries Kid-Killing Cords

Researchers are calling for the elimination of accessible cords on window blinds because they keep killing children.  A new study published Monday in the journal "Pediatrics" found that around 270 children 5 and younger were strangled by the cords between 1990 and 2015.  Nearly 17-thousand were injured.

New standards are set to come into place next year, but researchers argue that's not enough and that the risk needs to be completely eliminated.
